Sophia Slutskaya

One of Minsk Cathedral shrines is incorruptible relics of saint Orthodox Sophia Slutskaya, granddaughter of Anastasia Slutskaya whose heroic deeds were shown in a film produced recently. Sophia was one from magnates Alelkovich kin. Her wealth almost became a reason of gory war between magnate Hieronymus Hadkevich, her tutor, and father of her fiancé formidable warrior Radzivill whose nickname was Perun (Thunder). But Sophia couldn?t let people suffer because of her. They say that her prayers stopped war and bloodshed. The last from Alelekovich became a wife of Janus Radzivill and died on childbirth and her incorruptible body can be seen in side niche on the left from altar. They say that saint Sophia always helps those who ask about pure and sincere love.
